Join us for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure to the heart of the Grand Canyon — an exclusive adventure to Phantom Ranch, the legendary lodge tucked deep within the canyon, only accessible by foot, mule, or raft.
This bucket-list experience combines the thrill of descending into one of the world's most breathtaking landscapes with the comfort of a historic retreat at the South Rim.
Difficulty Rating - High, Physically Demanding
5,000 feet elevation change, 20-30 miles of hiking over 3 days, light backpacking (clothing and supplies), warm to hot weather (~80 degrees Fahrenheit) with full sun exposure

Arrange your travel to arrive in Vegas at your preferred time. Before the trip the group will select a hotel. We'll meet up on the ground and enjoy an evening in the City of Lights
DAY 1 Plan/Options
- Arrivals throughout the day
- Lunch/Dinner as a group or on your own
- Enjoy Vegas as you'd like - as a group, small groups, or on your own
We rise and shine on day two with a landmark stop at the Hoover Dam before stocking up, recharging, and resting up at Yavapai Lodge.
DAY 2 Plan/Options
- Leave Vegas by 8 am
- Stop at the famous Hoover Dam
- Check into Yavapai Lodge
- Visit the Yavapai Market for supplies
- Dinner at Yavapai Tavern
- Prep supplies and gear
- Optional mule rides or pedal bike rentals
- Relax and rest up for day 3
The most strenuous hike of our journey, South Kaibab is a downward 7.5 miles of intense adventure. We will sweat, we will get dirty, our knees and toes will complain, and our mouths may follow suit. But we will end the day as conquerers at the exclusive Phantom Ranch.
DAY 3 Plan/Options
- Hike the South Kaibob Trail (7.5 mi)
- Lunch on the trail
- Check in to Phantom Ranch
- Wash off, refuel, and sleep off the day
Recover, lounge, gift shop, or explore Phantom Ranch on your own. For those who are up for an extra trail excursion, there is an optional 12 mile guided hike to Ribbon Falls.
DAY 4 Plan/Options
- Enjoy Phantom Ranch on your own or as a group
- Optional self-guided hikes/exploring
- Optional hike to Ribbon Falls (12 mi)
- Dinner as a group
- Rest and prep for day 5
What goes down to the South Rim must come back up. With bright and early eyes we will set out on the 10-mile Bright Angel Trail by 7 am. We'll journey to the top of the Canyon and end the day with a group dinner celebrating our badassedness.
DAY 5 Plan/Options
- 7a - Roll out to hike the Bright Angel Trail (10 mi)
- Lunch on the trail
- Check in to Thunderbird Lodge
- Freshen up and briefly rest
- Celebration dinner at El Tovar
All good things must come to an end. We hit the road by 8 am to get our adventurers back in time for scheduled departures. Arrange your travel to depart Las Vegas no earlier than 1:00 pm local time.
DAY 6 Plan/Options
- 8a - Leave Thunderbird Lodge to return to Las Vegas
- Lunch on your own
- 1:00 pm local time - earliest departures begin
Hikes and Optional Excursions
A ridgeline descent with spectacular panoramic views of the Grand Canyon, this hike is a badge of honor for trekking enthusiasts. Hiking poles recommended.
A time-honored sightseeing method, mules are sure-footed and sturdy, offering a unique and memorable experience of vista views at the Grand Canyon
Several shops offer bike rentals and tours, allowing visitors to explore the Canyon rim by bike.
OPTIONAL
These falls plunge over canyon cliffs with plenty of shady rest spots to enjoy. You might need them, there are steep climbs, you'll likely get wet, and hiking poles are recommended.
Tucked deep within a side canyon, the most popular hiking trail in the Grand Canyon is well-maintained and its switchbacks are famous for seemingly never ending as we approach the top. Hiking poles recommended.
